Postcard from Melbourne

Dear All,

I have arrived in Australia after a 48 hour delay to departure caused by the high winds of last Thursday. So if you saw me kicking about Glasgow last Thursday to Saturday, it wasn't my evil twin; it was, in fact, me!

I would like to say a huge thank you for all the kindnesses shown to me in recent weeks. You have all been very supportive and encouraging of this move and at the same time managed to make me feel so valued in the role I have been in over the last few years.

Thank you to everyone who contributed towards my fantastic present. In case you didn't know, Ian presented me with a top of the range I-Pad 2 which he had purchased from the contributions made by you. I was completely overwhelmed by the generosity of this gift and I intend to put it to very good use and have plans for a blog and maybe even a facebook page so watch this space!

I have been incredibly touched by the numerous thank you cards and gifts passed on to me by the children of Western and I have brought them all with me to Melbourne. Luckily the lady at the BA desk turned a blind eye to the "well over the allowance" weight of my suitcase.

I do hope you keep in touch and my email address will remain unchanged (westminitennis@aol.com) and I have set up another one in case of any problems (juliegtennis@gmail.com). I would be delighted to hear from children and parents alike.

I am signed up for the Australian Open Conference again from 12th - 15th January so I hope to send over a guest blog from there.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all when it comes.

Lots and lots of love, Julie x
