a mixture of coaching and competition

This 90 minute camp will include coaching, matchplay and some fun games to finish. This is a great opportunity for some additional coaching as well as providing a friendly and supportive introduction to competition. It is also a way for us to pull together players from across the programme.

The cost for each session will be £7 per player for the 90 mins.

We would also like to encourage you to get a BTM for your child. This takes about 5 minutes to apply for and is FREE.

every SATURDAY from 
5 - 7 pm 
EVERY Sat 27/1 to Sat 17/2

Hillhead

Fun doubles events for 11 - 16 year olds

Westerton

Orange tournaments.  
Results will count towards ratings points (If your child doesn't have a rating you can sign up here https://www.lta.org.uk/member/signup/?product=child - it's free!) and it's a great way to practice all the things they have been learning at coaching.

Entry is £5 payable on the day and it runs from 1-3pm at Westerton Tennis Club (62 Maxwell Ave, Bearsden)

Jan/Feb dates as follows:
13/1, 27/1, 10/2, 24/2

Currie and Quirk Western Junior Club Championships - closing date 11th August.
(8U Red to 14U) - AUGUST 2017

This year's Currie and Quirk Junior Club Championships will take place 18-20 Aug and 26 Aug 2017 (if necessary). Participants need to be members of Western. You can enter the tournament HERE

The majority of the matches will be played in August and the results processed manually for ratings purposes. The Red and Orange and Green events will be played to a conclusion with the under 12 and under 14 boys and girls events scheduled for October 7th to run concurrently with the Club's Finals Day. All finalists will be invited to October 7th event to collect trophies.

Players are allowed to enter a MAXIMUM of TWO events. 

West of Scotland Summer Challenges

These are locally organised fun starter competitions and Western doing some special ones on the CLAY and also for GIRLS only. 

Sunday 30 July - 1 - 4 pm - Under 14 Doubles (don't need a partner to enter)
Sunday 6 August - 2 - 4 pm - Under 8 and Under 9 GIRLS ONLY
Sunday 13th August - 2 - 4 pm - Under 10 Green GIRLS ONLY

How to get a rating - and it's FREE

It would be great if ALL Western juniors could register to get a BTM - the basic philosophy to move up the rankings is that they only have to play matches to move up the first two grades i.e. particpation is rewarded. Getting a rating is FREE. Please affiliate with Western and the link can be found HERE

New Initiative for Women and Girls

http://sherallies.com - an exciting new initiative for women and girls from Judy Murray and the LTA. Any parent interested in attending training courses, please email westerntenniscoachingclub@gmail.com. We are hoping that courses will be run at Hyndland Secondary this year and the more mums, teachers, big sisters, aunties we can get on to them the better. 

Club Competition

We have club teams at Red, Orange, Green, U12, U14, U16 and U18. The majority of these inter club matches are played in May and June with the U12 leagues playing in September/ October
