A bit more about us...
The tennis coaching at Maryhill Sports Centre is run by the tennis coaches from Western Tennis Club.
We have been delivering free coaching and taster sessions in the primary schools in the area since March 2006 and we wanted to offer coaching in the local area that could link with the club for those who wanted to take it a bit further. Over the past few years we have run coaching at John Paul Academy, Maryhill Sports Centre and Maryhill Park. Our long term dream is to persuade Glasgow City Council and Tennis Scotland that there is enough demand in the area to upgrade the facilities at Maryhill Park so that there is a dedicated tennis centre in the area.
Following Judy Murray's visit to Drumchapel in November 2012 and hearing about what's going on there with the tennis courts (see links below), we feel encouraged that this dream can become a reality. Have a read below and if you would like to get involved in helping with us on this project, please email westerntenniscoachingclub@gmail.com and ask for Julie Gordon.
