Easter Camp!!
The camp runs from 10 to 3 every day (10-1230 for under 8s). The full day sessions are for those aged 8 years upwards but we will consider some 7 year olds (if they can handle sport all day) so just ask in the email if you want to enquire about that. We are more flexible with the February camp letting younger ones stay all day but we give the older children priority at Easter and Summer camps but please ask and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We also prioritise those booking for full weeks or at least 3-4 days. It is more difficult to manage individual day bookings as we need to keep a certain ratio of coaches to children. Once again, please email in your requests and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Activities at Camp
A typical day at camp for a 5 - 9 year old goes like this:
10 - arrive and meet in bar
10 - 1030 - warm ups and co-ordination exercises outside
1030 - 1120 - tennis session part one in ability groups
1120 - 1140 - break
1140 - 1230 - tennis session part two
1230 - depart
and for 10 - 14 year old
10 - arrive and meet in bar
10 - 1020 - warm ups
1020 - 1230 - more intense session than above with no break (drinks and snacks taken on court)
1230 - 1 pm lunch and rest
1 - 3 - afternoon activities which include tennis matches, tennis games, rounders, football, fitness and fun.
We have pizza day on Fridays and ALL children are welcome to stay for pizza including the morning children. They need to let the coach know in the morning when they arrive and hand in £3.50 for this on a Thursday. If morning children are staying for pizza, they can be collected at 1 pm instead of 1230 pm. We also have a water fight on Friday afternoons. The children get very excited about this but we really just stop at 240, let them throw water at each other (and the unsuspecting coaches) and then send them in to get changed. Change of clothes compulsory. There is also an alternative activity if the children would rather not take part.
Every Wednesday we have a themed day called WACKY WEDNESDAY.
Wednesday 4th April - Wacky Head Wednesday (wear a wig, a funny hat, face paint etc.)
Wednesday 11th April - Wacky Colour Day (dress all in one colour or as many as you can!)
Wacky Wednesday is all about fun and the coaches often award prizes for best costumes and perhaps reward good behaviour and sportsmanship for those up who have risen to the challenge at this point of the week.
